Is the $5 really refundable?

Yes. It's a deposit, not a purchase. It's credited toward your final order, or refunded in full at any point before you place that order — no questions.

When do these ship?

Batch 01 (the TV & the Vac) is targeting the first delivery window after we hit our reservation threshold. Reserving is how we prove demand to our manufacturing partners.

How can it be "smart" with no cloud?

Modern chips run speech and vision models on-device. The cloud was never a technical requirement for most features — it was a business model. We removed the business model.

Do you sell my email?

No. We'd be a pretty poor privacy company if we did. Your email is used only for reservation and shipping updates, and you can wipe it any time.

What if FARADAY goes under?

Because devices work fully offline and don't depend on our servers, they keep working regardless. Nothing bricks if we disappear.

Can I really open and repair it?

Yes — standard screws, documented internals, replaceable parts, and open interfaces (RTSP, LAN APIs, open firmware where relevant).
